Imagine that you were just told that you were going to be a parent. This is a moment that is supposed to be filled with joy and excitement. It is a time of anticipation of what blessings and tender moments that the future may hold. By now you are asking yourself if it is going to be a boy or a girl, what are you going to name them, how are you going to decorate the nursery, and what accessories will you be filling it with?
Now imagine this scenario again but this time you are given the news with no place to call home, no financial support, and at a time when even food is scarce. The one person you thought would care turns out to be the one to aim you toward destruction. Your future becomes seemingly hopeless with the reality of becoming a single parent looming in your midst. By now you are asking yourself how am I going to care for someone when I can’t even take care of myself? Where am I going to live, who do I talk to, and where do I go for help?
This second scenario has led us to the creation of Nevaehs Hope. We provide housing, support, and educational resources for displaced pregnant women and their children in their time of crisis. We provide a nurturing environment where their physical, spiritual, and emotional growth promotes an independent lifestyle.
